Synopsis: Katherine, wearing only her robe and slippers, walks out of her house one morning. She leaves behind her safe world of home and her husband, Mathew, in San Francisco, and finds herself at Tomales Bay -- a new world: dangerous, enchanted, full of wandering drop-outs and losers. Two drifters, Jake and Rich, entwine themselves with Katherine. They both develop a fascination for this mysterious Katherine, and their rivalry grows increasingly tense. All three of them -- Katherine, Rich, Jake -- are trying to keep life at bay, and life keeps trickling in, and the chemicals are combining... The tensions between Jake and Rich reach a breaking point. A violent night reveals hard truths, long hidden, for all of them, including Katherine.
